As I reflect back on my life so far I have realized that I'm really just an average girl, with an average life, living with an average disease. But what I do have is an AMAZING God who continues to blow me away with His love and His grace in my life. This is my attempt at putting into writing my journey so far.

Hello all! It's been a while since I've blogged. I have started to many times, but then I would get interrupted by a little peanut who doesn't like to nap. there's so much to write about, not sure where to begin and i know i won't have time. it's been 4 weeks yesterday since we've become a family of 3 (oops i mean 4, sorry reeces!). It started off as a very smooth transition and we were starting to think that we have this parenting thing down pat, but Hannah has quickly humbled us. :) It's been such a joy being a mother and a family, but it definitely has it's difficult moments. Hannah has decided that she doesn't like to take naps very well and she doesn't let us know by just not sleeping, she likes to scream at the top of her lungs for minutes which minutes in baby cry world feels like hours. But as my friend Heather has comforted me with, "this too shall pass". Her 2 month old went through a similiar pattern and now she sleeps good, so it gives me hope. And I got a call from a girl I haven't spoken with in a while who has a similiar parenting style, but has older kids so she will be a great source of encouragement. It was a definite answer to prayer.

Looking forward to Kevin and Emily's wedding and seeing Matt and Tracey and the Sipotz's too. It should be a good time. I can't believe the crazy fires out there in SD. We are praying that you guys will still make it! Those pictures are eerie looking. It's been great reading everyone's blogs lately. It keeps me in touch with the world.

Well I should wrap it up now, but I will end with Tracey's "what makes me happy list" to sum up the last 4 weeks.

1. Giving birth to a healthy little hannah bannana and not having to have a c-section. yay God!
2. Seeing Ryan hold Hannah for the first time in the delivery room and seeing her look up at him.
3. Realizing for the first time when I knew Hannah was ours....the nurse came to take her to the nursery and as I was laying in bed, the pillow smelled like her and I starting crying and longing to hold her again.
4. Coming home and introducing Reeces to Hannah. He was very jealous at first and wanted lots of attention, but he has grown to like her (at least that's we hope)
5. That first week at home with just Ryan and I and Hannah. Ryan was (and is) the most amazing husband in the world. He completely blew my expectations out of the water of what a supportive husband is supposed to be like. I never knew I could love him more than I did, but I do! Thanks Ryan!
6. Having Hannah on my shoulder and hearing her breathing excitedly in my ear as she is trying to latch on to my shoulder, my cheek, anything she can.
7. Holding her against my chest and melting when she arches her head back to look at me.
8. Napping with her on our recliner.
9. When she lets me sleep 4 hours at night!
10. Watching Ryan talk and play with her.
11. Ryan's back rubs after a rough day!
12. Playing cards with my Ryan and my parents on the computer on a Saturday night. (that's what our lives have come to, but it was fun! :) )
13. Just thanking God that he has entrusted such a beautiful little baby to us and feeling very privelaged!

Hannah has now napped for 30 minutes! This day is starting out good so far! Have a great week everyone!

hi all..just a quick update. ryan, hannah, and i got home from the hospital on Wednesday and it has been a pretty smooth transition. hannah is such a blessing and a little cutie. for those who don't know yet, she was born on Monday, Sept. 29th at 9:50am. She weighed 7lb 11oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. The labor part definitely wasn't the funnest thing in the world, but it was worth it in the end! i posted some pictures on my photo site if you want to take a look at them. i may caption them sometime. other than being pretty tired we are doing great though. i will update more when i have more time. i guess that will be in about 18 years! :)
