The Musings of Michelle

Here is my attempt to not let those little precious moments go unforgotten...

As I reflect back on my life so far I have realized that I'm really just an average girl, with an average life, living with an average disease. But what I do have is an AMAZING God who continues to blow me away with His love and His grace in my life. This is my attempt at putting into writing my journey so far.

Ok i'm bummed now...has anyone actually gone to this moviepitch.com site? you have buy this cdrom first and then you can submit ideas. whatever! i've already been sucked into one too many scams, but that is a story for another time.

i'm very sad, because my movie idea was a great one and now noone may never get to see my creation because i'm not going to pay $23.50. :( oh well.

so it's 2:30am right now and i can't sleep. i'm sure it has nothing to do with the 3 cokes and diet mountain dew i consumed tonight. but Aunt Dee Dee is getting up with Hannah tomorrow so that will be nice. Usually I would sleep in until at least 11am or so on my sleep in days, but I guess i will be sociable at least and get up at 9ish. i just got done playing about 4 games of spades on yahoo. only lost 1..not bad. it's so nice to be able to play cards guilt free, because I have everything else done that i need to get done.

had a good chat with trace dog today. getting very pumped for our trip out there and for Bob Barker! We are hoping to find a baby sitter for Hannah one night so the 4 of us can go out after 8:30pm. ..that would be so great if that could happen.

here's another story you will definitely like trace and matt.....today Hannah woke up from her nap really crying which is something she hasn't done in quite a while. we both went up there and tried to soothe her, but nothing worked so i picked her up and was holding her trying to calm her down, but she was still crying. and then i noticed she was making the milk sign over and over and i realized that she had an early lunch and didn't eat as much as she usually does so she was probably hungry. so we gave her some milk which she guzzled and she went back to sleep. it was so awesome because that was the first time she initiated communicating with her signs for us and had she not done that..i would have assumed she was just teething or grumpy and she would have gone hungry for another hour or so. so anyhoo..pretty cool story i thought.

so it's 2:30am and i'm totally not tired. but i can't think of anything else to ramble on about so i guess i'll probably read some of my bible. i'm trying to read through the bible with this cool chronological bible that grammy got me. unfortunately i'm only in the march section, but the old michelle would have just given up since i was so far behind, but the new michelle says "hey, even if it takes 2 years, at least you did it." since i'm in numbers right now, that will probably help the sleep come soon. :)

welp have a great sunday and week all!

It's been a good and productive week for the new Michelle which is nice.  The Burn's are coming down for a visit this weekend so that shoudl be fun.  The boys are golfing Saturday and Sunday (of course!) and I think Blake Ryan is coming down to join them on Saturday which is great!  The forecast calls for rain all weekend though so I'm a little nervous.  I don't know how to entertian Uncle Bob and Jonathan without golf!  :)   I'm not sure what Aunt Dee dee, Hannah and I have planned yet, but I'm sure it will have some fun Hannah time in there.

I don't know if I mentioned it yet or not, but Hannah is crawling now!  wow what a different world it is now.  Actually it's not too bad yet, because she's still in the cautious crawling stage, but it's only a matter of time.   One thing that made me realize it's different is when I'm getting ready I will usually put her on the floor outside the bathroom to watch me and the other day I looked over and Hannah was no more.  She crawled into the bedroom and was taking stuff off the night table.   I was trying to teach her the "up" sign recently to let me know when she wants up from her chair or for me to hold her, but instead she just started saying "up"!  So that works too.  It's so cute to hear her say it.   She's also been signing "eat" and "bed" and  "book" (she does the same sign for book and bath so it's hard to tell in the evening what she wants).   And she's almost got "please" down.   She's been loving her books the past couple of days.  We'll sit there for over a half and hour and just read and flip through books.  today it looked like she signed "more book", but it could have been a fluke.  Of course I was still excited!   I realized after typing this that Tracey will probably be the only one excited about this stuff!  :)

And yes Matt I heard about the movie.  I guess Orlando Bloom is in it.  They either didn't need extras or I just haven't heard anything.  I think it's done now.  The second movie I missed!  and I can't imagine that it will happen again for a while.  Oh speaking of movie...I finally have a great movie pitch that I thought of to put on the moviepitch.com site.  Of course I can't share it on here, because I don't want someone to read it and try and take credit for it.  I'll let you all know if it becomes a hit!

Well I think I'll finally get the videos downloaded so I can send one out.  I know it's been way too long.  Be on the lookout.

Oh and Mary with all this traveling about, I bet your body is going to get run down.  i have a feeling come August 30th you won't be feeling too good.  You better call in sick and recuperate in Las Vegas with Trace and I!!!!
Love to all!

It's been a nice relaxing weekend.  Friday night we went over to Lisa's parents who were on vacation and Dan and Ryan swam and then we played some euchre.  Their house is awesome.  It doesn't look all that big from the outside, but it has like 5 or 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms!  They have this one room called the mother-in-law quarters.  It has it's own set of stairs leading up to it and it's a bedroom and a full bathroom.  Oh the guest room possibilities with that one!

Saturday we had church and group and then went to Ryan and Heather's to play Catan.  I love that we have our friends hooked on that game.  Our other friend Dock won the first game and I won the second.  Fun time had by all.

Today Ry got up with the bananna and I slept in until 11:30am!  It was so nice.  Last week we stayed up way to0 late every night and it's taking it's toll on me.   Ryan is up in New Carlisle tonight through Tuesday.  The new Regional director is starting from the Richmond, VA office that Ryan opened.  Now he's moving on to Georgia to open an office.  I think the combination of having our friends move to Alabama and Minnesota and Ryan opening these offices has gotten me in the wandering mood again.  I've been wanting to move again, but I know that we are here to stay for a while, but who knows maybe in the next couple of years God will have something else planned for us.

Thanks for taking the time to blog Mare from England.  It's been so fun reading all about it.  And a belated happy birthday to ya!  Crazy story about the guy in the tree Matt and Tracy.  I think a fun ending to that story would have been if the guy jumped into the crowd and they crowd surfed him to a clean get away.

Tonight Hannah took her first crawling steps!  It was pretty exciting.  She's been army crawling around a little, but she stayed up on all fours tonight.   Last night during group a lady came down to tell us that all the girl's were fussy and crying in the nursery and then she looked at us and said, well all of them except for Hannah, she's just playing up there.  I felt bad for the other parents, but I have to admit I was a pretty proud mama too!  I'm glad she's gotten her daddy's laid back genes so far!

Well I guess i better hit the hay.  I need to start this week off on the right foot.  My goal for the new Michelle is to finish getting the house completely organized this week so that I can start working on the little stuff I've been wanting to accomplish like scrap booking and coming up with business ideas to make us rich!

Have a good week all and I'll see yas around the blog!

i've been a blog slacker the past couple of weeks.  it was good getting caught up with everyone's blog.  we've been busy lately, but it's been a fun busy.  Let's see..last weekend we went up to Columbus, because my mom had bought her, Jen, and I tickets to see the Lion King broadway show for Christmas.  It was an amazing show!  I bet the Edward clan would like it because it's very African safari like.  The costumes and props were amazing.   It was a bit cheesy too, because the dialogue was almost verbatim the animated movie, but overall an awesome show.   that weekend ryan and i also celebrated our 5th anniversary!   my mom and Jen watched Hannah while we went to see Spiderman 2 (great flick) and then to the Old Bag of Nails for a yummy fish sandwhich, and then we went to the Scioto river and chatted for awhile.  It was a great weekend.   And then on Sunday we went over to Dayton and met up with Phil and Carly at his parent's second home which is just minutes from where Ryan has his meeting on Monday so it worked out great.  We chatted and played catan until 1:30 in the morning.  and then on Monday Hannah and I drove down to Lexington with Phil and Carly and Ryan came later after his meeting.  We went to Mancino's for dinner and then Phil and Carly watched Hannah for us while we stopped by our friend's Jeremy and Jennifer for their going away party.  They are moving to Alabama.  We all wrote them letters and then some of us made a scrap book with the letters and pictures from the past 5 years.  It was neat to see the finished project.   And then we stayed up until 3am playing catan again with Phil and Carly.  It was fun trying to pretend that I was young and in college again, but when those mornings come reality sets in and I wonder what in the world I was thinking.  I don't think I have fully caught up yet on sleep, but it was still fun.  Phil and Carly just graduated from Harvard and are moving to Minnesota.  Phil is going to be working at Best Buy in the marketing department for games, dvd, and entertainment.   He asked his boss what he could be doing to prepare for his job before he starts and he told him to read entertainment weekly and get caught up on what's going on in the entertainment world.  Pretty sickening isn't it?

This past weekend was pretty relaxing.  Just stayed in Lexington.  We played Catan with Dan and Lisa and swam in her parent's pool.  That was fun.  On Saturday I hung out with Jamie and we took the girls to the pool.  Hannah loved it.  It's a pretty fun pool with  a splash zone and fun slides.  I definitely want to take her back sometime.   And then after church we played Catan with Ryan and Heather and Dan and Lisa.   We've been quite the cataniacs lately it seems.

The new me is still going pretty good.  I didn't get a whole lot done last week because i took many naps, but when i was awake, i stayed pretty productive.   Hannah is cute as ever.  She's starting to inch worm her way around now.  I have a video clip i'll be sending out sometime soon.

welp i feel as though this blog is quite the boring read so i will end the misery now.  have a great week all and have an amazingly awesome time in Europe Mary!

Victory Conquers! -the new Michelle

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

Haven't blogged in a while so I thought I would write one real quick. Can't really think of anything to say. Ryan is working tonight and tomorrow night until really late. I get sad when he misses seeing Hannah for 2 nights in a row as does he, but when you're the big cheese, duty calls. He's heading to Richmond, VA tomorrow to interview people for the regional director position for the new office there. He told me a cool story about that...him and his boss Mike were here in Lexington last week or the week before and Mike had Ryan come by the hotel restaurant so they could discuss details of the Richmond office and look over resumes. (One funny side note was that Mike would not even consider a person if he couldn't pronounce their name no matter how qualified they were..thought that was funny) so anyhoo the waitress came to take their order and Mike asked her jokingly, "you don't happen to have a degree in social work do you." Ryan said she looked kind of stunned and said, "actually I just got my masters in social work and am in the process of sending resumes out." So Ryan interviewed her today for the job. Small world eh?

So tonight is going to be a good test of the new Michelle. For those of you who haven't heard of the new Michelle, I've been reading 7 habits of highly effective people and it's been life changing. I highly recommend it. It's not at all dry and mainly for mananger type people like I thought it would be. It has helped me change the way I look at my priorties. I've been really convicted lately, because I know that I am not going to be able to teach Hannah self control and self discipline if I do not possess that myself and it's been a life long struggle for me to overcome it. It will take some time, but I think this time, I'm actually headed in the right direction. I've actually had a couple of days where I have finished everything on my todo list which I don't think I have ever done. But tonight, I'm tired and Ryan is not here and I need to prepare for this budgeting class that I'm teaching on Friday. the old Michelle would just wait until tomorrow night and prepare and then be all stressed out on friday and feel unprepared and anxious. Hopefully the new Michelle will get at least some of it done before crashing.

Welp on that note i best be getting some stuff done. Have an awesome time in England Mary! And if there's anyway you can get monday the 30th of August off of school, you need to come meet us in LA. We were unable to go the original week we has planned due to Delta being cheap and not letting us use our free tickets. The next available time was the end of August so that's when we are going. So I think I feel a sickness coming over you that day! ;)

ok i'm out of here. peace all!
